AdvocateMD's COVID-19 Information & Safety

Please see our COVID-19 information below. This page is updated regularly as new information and guidelines are released.

Vaccine Information

ALL PERSONS 12 YEARS OF AGE AND OLDER ARE ELIGIBLE TO RECEIVE THE VACCINE IN FLORIDA.

The CDC recommends everyone 12 years and older should get a COVID-19 vaccination to help protect against COVID-19. Effective 8/13/21 the CDC recommends a booster dose of the COVID-19 vaccine for patients who are immunocompromised. Click here to visit the CDC website for a full list of conditions which qualify individuals for the booster dose. A physician's note is NOT required to obtain the booster. Visit any of the links below under 'Where to find the COVID-19 Vaccine' to schedule your booster if you qualify.

At this time, AdvocateMD is not administering COVID-19 vaccine. However, COVID-19 vaccine is readily available in our community. We continually monitor for updates related to vaccine supply and will keep our website up-to-date as vaccine updates occur.

Where to find the COVID-19 Vaccine

The following organizations have offered the vaccine within our community. To learn more about their vaccine offerings, please visit to their websites directly.

Masks

We require all staff, patients, and guests to wear masks while at our facilities. Our clerical and clinical staff who are in direct contact with patients wear surgical/procedural masks or N-95 when appropriate for the situation. Gaiter type face coverings are not allowed. If you need a mask please as someone at our front desk and they would be happy to provide you one.

Additional Cleaning

We have increased the frequency and level of cleaning in our offices. Throughout the day, our staff cleans high-contact areas/surfaces. In the evenings, our cleaning crews also provide an additional “deep clean” of all of our offices.

Telehealth

On July 1st, 2021, the Expiration of Emergency Order put into effect by Governor Ron DeSantis, requires all physicians to conduct an in-person evaluation with the patient in order to prescribe or renew a prescription for a controlled substance.

In an effort to limit the spread of COVID-19, AdvocateMD also offers electronic telehealth services, except to patients seeking a renewal prescription for a controlled substance.

Telehealth allows access to healthcare while protecting the health and wellbeing of our patients and staff. It is an alternative to office visits for all of our patients and for those looking for a healthcare provider. In some instances, your provider may feel that it would be in your best interest to come into the office for an exam rather than using telehealth services.

If you are interested in scheduling a telehealth visit, please call our office to schedule your visit.
